A touch of the West End has come to Kingsmead in the last week of term with the school production of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat being performed for audiences in nightly shows on Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th February. Spike Maxwell from Year 8 plays the lead role of Joseph in the retelling of the biblical story about the favourite son of Jacob (played by Eleanor Redish from Year 10) who can interpret dreams to foretell the future. The colourful story is told through song from beginning to end and contains great performances from the cast, many of whom have dual roles. Mr Thompson’s Elvis impersonating Pharoah has been well worth seeing!
Students from across the year groups have been involved in all aspects of the production as actors, singers and musicians, and as back stage crew and technicians. They can all be proud that all their hard work is paying off with an entertaining show for audiences.
