Welcome to the Kingsmead School Motor Vehicle Learning Team.
ABC Motor Vehicle (Level 1) is available as an option in Years 9, 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4). Students in Year 9 are introduced to the subject and how to use workshop tools and equipment competently and safely. In Years 10 and 11 students develop the knowledge and skills required to carry out a series of general repairs and service work on different light vehicles.
Students will work on a range of vehicles within the workshop. They will use a range of workshop equipment which includes a hydraulic lift, tyre changing and wheel balancing equipment and a diagnostic scanner. The learning team is closely linked to post-16 colleges with opportunities to visit on challenge days. We also have links with local garages for educational visits.
