ACTIVITIES AND VISITS WHICH HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN THE LAST YEAR
STUDY VISITS AND EXCHANGES:
All Year 7 students have the opportunity to participate in a Study Visit to France or Germany. As well as providing a linguistic and cultural experience, the visit is designed to foster social relationships as students travel with their form group and are usually accompanied by their form tutor as well as Modern Foreign Language staff.
Last year the French Study Visit went to Riec sur Belon in Brittany and the German Study Visit to Rhens am Rhein, near Koblenz.
The school has a flourishing Exchange programme - for Year 8 students to Plettenberg in Germany and for Year 9 students to Le Lion d’Angers in France.
In Year 10, students who are taking an “Early Entry” GCSE in French or German have the opportunity to participate in an Intensive Language Weekend in France or Germany.
Every second year, there is also an Exchange Visit to Kitwe in Zambia for Year 10 and 11 students. A wide range of theatre visits are arranged by the Art, Drama, English and Music Department staff. The following activities were some of those that took place last year (2003 - 2004):-
